FAQ

What are some of the most popular reasons to install a pool?

Some reasons include aesthetics, recreation, entertainment, physical fitness, improving the overall quality of life, and bringing families together.

Are there any risks when installing a pool?

Your pool should be installed by a properly trained builder who has references of other jobs. In addition, you should make sure prior to the installation, that the pool is placed in the proper location to take advantage of the sun and view from your home. Something that some people do not consider when deciding to put a pool in their backyard is the impact that the pool will have on your life if your backyard could become the gathering spot for family and friends.

Are concrete pools stronger than fiberglass pools?

No, fiberglass pools are 17 times stronger and more flexible than concrete or gunite.

Are fiberglass pools easy to maintain?

Yes, Latham Pools are virtually maintenance free. On average, a homeowner can save up to $225.00 per month on their Pool maintenance versus other types of pools.

Can salt water be used in a fiberglass pool?

Absolutely! Salt water swimming pools have become increasingly popular.

What are the advantages of fiberglass pools having a smooth surface?

One advantage is that algae will grow on porous surfaces like that of a concrete pool. The non-porous surface of a fiberglass pool will not scrap your skin or tear your swim suites as a concrete pool would.

Will installing a pool increase my homes value?

Swimming pools make the home more attractive to the buyer and can increase the value of your home/property.

How long does a Latham Pool last?

Latham Pools come with a lifetime structural warranty. (That means our warranty is not pro=rated we MEAN as long as you live)

If a repair is needed will it be hard to work on?

Fiberglass pools can be repaired easily and the repairs are just as strong as the original. Also most repairs are of a cosmetic and not of a structural nature. These repairs can often be performed under water.

Can I move my fiberglass pool to another location?

When you move, your pool can go with you.

Is it true that fiberglass pool have limited design options?

Are there many pool colors to choose from?

Latham Pools offer over 13 color choices.

Does a fiberglass pool have customizable options?

Latham Pools have more exclusive options than any other manufacturer. Options include fiber optic lighting, LED lighting, cascades, perimeter tile, tiled floors, steps, seats and skimmers, inlayed mosaics, inlayed tile on steps and seats, and in-floor cleaning systems.

Is the vanishing edge limited on only a few pool designs?

One of the things that make Latham Pools unique is that we can offer a negative (vanishing) edge option on each of our pool designs.

If I wanted to make changes to my existing fiberglass pool would that be easy to do?

One of the easiest facelifts that a homeowner can do is to replace the perimeter tile. This can easily be done by a trained professional.

Are fiberglass pools environmentally friendly?

Yes, not only does a Blue Hawaiian pool use less chemicals and energy, they also never need to be re-plastered nor does it have a liner to replace resulting in less waste in our landfills.
